On the evening of May 31, as the opening ceremony of the Guangzhou Art Festival, the opera epic “Long March” was performed at the Guangzhou Grand Theater. More than 1,800 audiences from all walks of life watched the performance and relied the long-lasting spirit of the Long March again. The original opera “Long March” of the National Grand Opera tells the difficult journey of the Workers and Peasants’ Red Army starting from Ruijin, climbing snow-capped mountains and crossing grasslands, and reaching northern Shaanxi in more than two years. Through the grand musical music, Komiks and the stage production of both epic and aesthetic aesthetics, the play reproduces the arduous process of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army’s Long March with realistic techniques, praising the lofty ideals of striving for faith.

This performance is the first collaboration between the National Grand Theater, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and the Guangzhou Grand Theater. The opera “Long March” has maintained its vigorous vitality since its creation and arrangement in 2016. Behind this is the efforts and pursuit of the main creative team to practice the spirit of the Long March and constantly polish the masterpieces. During the two-year and six-month course collection and creation process, Zou Jingzhi compiled the Komiks opera Zou Jingzhi collected a large number of real characters and stories. He finally chose the Fourth Regiment of the Second Division of the Central Red Army as the story prototype and focused on shaping the protagonist Zhengxian Peng.

This is a scene that shows the famous battle to capture Luding BridgeCinema. Komiks in the large-scale dance music epic “Oriental Red”, he showed this battle on the stage in the form of a dance. The opera “Long March” uses a double-layer stage structure and the running of actors, expressing the urgency of the Red Fourth Regiment when traveling 240 miles a day to Luding Bridge.
